What Are Title Tags?
Other than writing optimized content, title tags are the most important aspect of search engine optimization. We tell our clients the title tags tell Google exactly WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO RANK FOR. To write good title tags, the first step is to learn how to do keyword research and what competitor analysis is. After you have done these two steps, you should have a better idea of which key terms to include in your title tag.
How Long Should My Title Tags Be?
Between 50 and 60 characters, including spaces.
The appropriate length for title tags is really judged by pixels. For instance an “m” takes up more pixels than an “l”. This, however, is not the easiest way for the average person to measure their title length. The best estimate is to keep it between 50 and 60 characters, including the spaces.
