E-commerce Digital Marketing

The coronavirus has flipped the retail on its head, affecting brick and mortar retail stores, as well as e-commerce. Quarantines have driven more people to shop online than ever before,  increasing the importance of PPC Marketing on Google, Bing, Facebook, and Instagram. Google has decided to allow online retailers to list their products on the Google Shopping Tab for free, “In light of these challenges, we’re advancing our plans to make it free for merchants to sell on Google. Beginning next week, search results on the Google Shopping tab will consist primarily of free listings, helping merchants better connect with consumers, regardless of whether they advertise on Google.” – Bill Ready, President of Commerce, Google. Google has provided the image below to show how the free listings will integrate on Google with the Google Shopping Ads.

How Do I List My Products For Free On Google Shopping?

First off, these ARE NOT FREE ADS. These free product listings will be listed on the Google Shopping Tab, as depicted above. They are best complemented with a paid ad campaign in order to cover all the locations products will show.

Now that that’s out of the way, you will need a Google Merchant Center account, which requires a product feed. We recommend Sales & Orders on BigCommerce. Next, you’ll want to make sure Surfaces Across Google is activated in our Merchant Center account, as seen below. The more optimized your product pages are, the easier Google will be able to match up your products with searcher intent. Allow us to also provide you with search engine optimization services.
